Kids' Sunday Summary

10:30AM CHILDREN’S WORSHIP

This school year children (4 years to Grade 2) are learning about how we worship God on Sundays and every day with a three-week lesson unit on each part of our worship service. On the last Sunday of the unit, students will complete an art project expressing that element of worship.

Lamentation Unit (on Mar 10, 17 & 24)

We say to God: “How long?” (part of the Story of Worship)

  • We lament and are sad that our world is broken by sin.

  • We can ask God for help and hope in His promise to one day make all things new.

At Home Discussion Starters:

  1. What kinds of things make you sad?

Grades 2-5

Lesson: Offering Sacrifices for Sin
Bible Truth: God provided atonement for sins by the death of animals that stood in the place of the sinner until the promised Savior came. (Leviticus 4–6, 17; Exodus 29; Romans 6; Hebrews 10).
Lesson Focus: To learn that in the Old Testament, God required animal sacrifices to atone for sins; to recognize that all people are guilty before God and need a Savior to pay for their sins; to trust in Jesus as Savior, thanking God for forgiving us and making us right with him.
Memory Verse: Leviticus 11:44a
Discussion Starters:

  1. Why did God require the Israelites to make animal sacrifices?

  2. Why don’t we need to perform such sacrifices today?

  3. What does it mean that Jesus is the Lamb of God?
