Theater Workshop

Physical Presence Workshop: Join the church body in using very simple theater and movement exercises to explore what it means to be present with each other, and to engage with Scripture in a way we often don't. Using the story of the woman who touched Jesus' cloak in the gospel of Luke, chapter 8, we will work as a group to discuss and explore the connection between soul and body. No previous theater experience necessary, but come ready to move! June 2, 1pm-3pm in Somerville. Contact Ruthie Buescher for more info and to sign up.

Veritas Forum

As gene editing technologies, such as CRISPR/Cas9, become more advanced and affordable, their ability to have profoundly positive effects on humankind seems apparent. Solutions to the ethical considerations, such as equity of access and societal values related to genetic diversity, are far less apparent and demand thoughtful consideration. Accordingly, the Veritas Forum at MIT is pleased to host Stanford neurobiologist William Hurlbut and MIT genetic biologist Rudolf Jaenisch to dialogue about these issues. The discussion will be moderated by MIT professor of engineering Cullen Buie. The event will be hosted at MIT in room 26-100 on Thursday, April 26th at 7PM. Refreshments will follow. For more information, please contact Susanne van Veluw
