Congregational Meeting

The members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church are called to a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, preceded by a prayer meeting that will start at 6:30p. This meeting will be held virtually.

Business to be conducted at the meeting:

  1. Elect a pastoral search committee* for the purpose of recommending a pastoral candidate for Cambridge

  2. Elect church officers – the slate of candidates to be elected will be shared upon approval by the Session

  3. Share information with the church

Instructions for how to participate in the virtual meeting will be forthcoming.

Congregational Meeting (10/18)

The members of Christ the King Presbyterian Church are called to two upcoming Congregational Meetings.

The first is on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will be held virtually. Business to be conducted at the October meeting:
1. Consider the resignation of Rev. Rick Downs as Pastor of Christ the King Presbyterian Church
2. Approve a process for forming a pastoral search committee*
3. Hear more information and ask questions related to placing an interim pastor in Cambridge and the search for a permanent replacement

The second is on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 7:00 PM and will be held virtually. Business to be conducted at the November meeting:
1. Elect a pastoral search committee* for the purpose of recommending a pastoral candidate for Cambridge
2. Elect church officers – the slate of candidates to be elected will be shared upon approval by the Session

Brazilian Boat Tour

Gustavo Ramanzini, a member and musician of the CTK Brazilian congregation, would like to invite CTK members to join him in our Family Boat Tour! On 7/8/2017 from 4pm to 7pm, come take a boat tour over the Boston Bay. There will be kids entertainment, and a Brazilian Talents Festival! Anyone who wants to join in on the music is welcome - bring your singing voice and instruments! Tickets are $40, and Kids up to age 5 are $20. (Kids under 3yo are not recommended). Grace Prep job opening

Seeking Roommate.  Two mid-20s women are looking for  a female roommate to fill the third bedroom in a Somerville apartment.  It's a pretty, sunny place with furnished common spaces, two porches, a shared backyard, and free laundry in the basement.  It's conveniently located in Teele Square, a 10 minute walk from the Davis Square T, near lots of buses and plenty of street parking.  Rent is $925/month + utilities. Housing Needed

Julie, Dean, and Abby (age 8) Preston are looking for housing while Dean undergoes cancer treatment at Dana Farber. They'll be arriving in the area around mid-May and will need housing anywhere from 1 month - 1 year. If you have space in your home, or know of other cost free housing available, please write to David Schaller so he can pass the word on to them. Elementary Grade Teaching Position: Grace Preparatory Academy of Greater Boston in Newton (a developing University Model School) is looking for a part-time (20-hr: 13 hrs of classroom time, 7 hours of prep time) Christian teacher two days a week (Monday & Wednesday, 8:00 am to 2:30 pm) to instruct children in a combined classroom.  We have two classrooms, kindergarten and first grade and a second classroom of second through fourth grade students.  Core subjects include:  math, language arts, history/social studies, and science.  This position is for the 2017-2018 school year.
