Community Groups
Community groups at CTK Cambridge are weekly gatherings of people that meet in smaller groups for fellowship and mutual encouragement in the faith, as we learn work out the implications of the gospel together. Our community groups are organized geographically because we understand our neighborhoods not as abstractions, but as the real places that God has planted us to be good neighbors for the glory of God and the good of our neighbors. To that end, we desire to be a faithful presence where we can not only serve and encourage other members of the church who happen to live in our neighborhood, but also actively love our neighbors, and serve them to the end that they would know the delight of knowing and worshiping Jesus Christ.
The mission of community groups at CTK Cambridge is three-fold: First, they serve as a place of welcome and integration into the life of the church. Those who attend community groups do not need to be members, nor do they even need to be Christians. We believe that the Christian faith can only be fully understood by not only hearing the gospel preached, but also by witnessing it being lived out among believers. To that end, we strive to ensure that all groups are always open to newcomers and inquirers. Secondly, community groups at CTK are the primary place where we care for each other. As friendships form and deepen, we strive to "bear one another's burdens" in life, learn from the Scriptures together, support each other in prayer, and encourage each other in the faith. Finally, we strive to see our community groups be the primary vehicle through which we serve our community. We do this by praying for our neighborhoods and our cities and by pursuing localized community service, that would make our neighborhoods know the blessing of our Savior who "came to seek and save the lost."
